I’ve been hunting about in my archives for articles that I’ve written. I found this piece that was published in the Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Living section some time back. Fashion is no longer just about ornamentation and warmth, it has evolved into an art, beyond racks, runways, streets, even our bodies. Our first whiff of this, was when demonstrators and feminists in the sixties recognized t-shirts as the perfect vehicle for artistic, political and social comment. But, now clothing has gone beyond the need of even having to contain a body, or at least that’s what the ten artists think in the “Dressing and Dreaming” exhibition at the Sherman Galleries. (more…)
