True Fashioholics will be familiar with the magazine Shop Til You Drop. Now they have a FAB online store/blog/e-zine which is well worth a look. The Shop Til You Drop E-Boutique has some yummy new dresses for spring/summer, as well as some great accessories for that ever delightful spark of colour. Check out the Down Home Dress from Friends of Couture. It features an embroidered braided hem, waist tie, stand collar and deep V neck which makes it an instant classic. Perfect with sandals and casual springtime outings.
Another cutie is the Finding Truth dress from Jorge. It features a tiered skirt and light rose colouring which gives it an edgy yet relaxed look. Pair this with black heels and matching cuff or bangles.
And just because I prefer things in “threes” I thought I’d add this whimsical Zoda bracelet that features bright springtime colours full of fun and joie de vivre. It features an assortment of orange, red and turquoise beads which also include parrots, cockatoos and rosellas that swing from twisted silver rings. Gorgeous!
Don’t you just HEART this image? Love it. Want it. Need it. LOVE + PEACE to all!
What’s not to love about NY based designer extraordinaire Karim Rashid? Check out these sample projects: a sound absoorbtion panel (in HOT pink – me like!): a very funky restaurant fit-out (can’t say our local restaurants look like this!) ; and a home interior space (very sci-fi- when can I move in?). I’ve always been a big fan of Karim’s after I first stumbled upon his work when I worked for MONUMENT magazine around 15 years ago. His repertoire includes design for furniture, products, interior spaces, packaging, art, fashion and such. What a multi-tasker! ANd how about his art work below. Retro with a futuristic edge. Love the colours.
Isn’t this divine?! It’s the graphic template that I’ll be using to advertise Miss Moss Fashion at the up-and-coming LifeInstyle August 2010. It’s designed with the considerable skill of Anna Foster-Percy of kids wear brand annaandsally We’re currently in the throes of designing our stand (Stand 218, Hall 2) which is exciting. But, 3×3 metres doesn’t give you much to play with, I have to admit….
PRESS RELEASE: SOUTH-COAST BASED FASHION LABELS ANNA & SALLY and MISS MOSS ARE SET TO APPEAR AT THE PRESTIGIOUS LIFEINSTYLE TRADE EVENT, MELBOURNE 10-13 AUGUST 2010.
Two South Coast based fashion labels, Anna & Sally and Miss Moss, have banded together to kick start Coastal Collective, an online creative co-operative that supports and promotes artists, designers and such based on the South Coast of NSW. A recent coup for Coastal Collective is an invitation to exhibit at Melbourne’s prestigious LifeInstyle Trade Fair, Flemington Racecourse Grandstand, 10-13 August, 2010.
The two brands will appear side by side at this event that is widely hailed as Australia’s top fashion and homewares trade event. LifeInstyle is held in Sydney and Melbourne every year, with 12,000 and 35,000 attendees, respectively, from around the country and abroad.
According to Siobhan O’Brien creative director and founder of Miss Moss, “It’s very exciting to be involved with an event of this scale. The next step for Miss Moss is to take it from the local area into an arena that offers wider exposure. Such an opportunity is possible with LifeInstyle. When we received the call that Coastal Collective was accepted, we were elated.” (more…)
I’ve done my website housekeeping for the week – you know, the usual stuff: revamped photos, updated info, ran the spellchecker, added a widget (Add/Share This) or two. I hope it works! In the meantime, I really should get back to my other work…tisk! tisk! But I was just starting to have fun!

It’s summer here in OZ, but I am dreaming of my winter collection already! There’s a theme going on in my mind: charcoal, chocolate with inspired insertions of colour, texture and drama. I’m due to pick up the most STUNNING fabric tomorrow – soft, charcoal wool with black beaded embroidery that dances around the hemline. The plan is for a go-everywhere/look-stunning-without-much-effort coat that is straight and long-ish (to the knees is ample). Then there’s another inspired bolt of fabric, a basic ruffle-upon-ruffle affair, that I intend to get made up into a long (mid-calf) sleeveless, cross-seasonal vest. I also have plans for tunics that require nothing else except lots of layers – leggings and such (these are made from a textured NZ fabric); a selection of comfy pants and matching cami’s; and an array of other jackets that are still on the drawing board. Now, where’s the snow?
