I’m so thrilled to be working in a town that I love so much. Milton, NSW, really rocks my socks. The other night as I drove home from Sydney, after a big weekend selling MISS MOSS wares at the Kirribilli Markets I was delighted to see the lights flashing on the awning of the historic Milton Theatre. The legendary U.S Tony Joe White was in town and how I yearned to be inside listening to his wonderful vibes. What a man! Milton has seriously upped the ante in the past few years and is now a highlight on the South Coast of NSW. It boasts all manner of hotels, cafes, retail stores and other businesses. One of my current favorites is Rubee & Mee. I purchased a very scrumptious woolen dress from these folk just the other day, while the eclectic and ever interesting Chieftan Trading Co. is my true shop of choice in the village. My recent purchase, from this stores ever lovely hostess Jenny, was a selection of limited edition prints. But you can expect much more in this store – ceramics, jewellery and homewares and such. If a serious coffee and wholesome food is on your radar try Pilgrims Cafe, the ONLY cafe in town. Mmmmmmm….
Sydney Calls Miss Moss

Planning a trip to Sydney from the South Coast is not as easy as it sounds. First of all, it takes 4 hours from where I live (ouch!), which is a little too far for my liking. I adore the serenity and beauty of Milton & Bawley Point, but the big smoke is just so ALIVE! I find that my SYDNEY TO DO LIST is sooooo lonnnngg by the time I get there that I end up squeezing every ounce out of every day/scheduling meetings back-to-back, but I still don’t end up with enough time. Maybe I need to buy a city crash pad! Now there’s an idea…

The older I get, the wiser I become in some departments, while in others I clearly do not. One particular area that I fail to learn life’s lesson is counting my chickens before they’re hatched. Take, for example the recent shenanigans while looking for an office for the new Miss Moss HQ. At first, things are looking GREAT: glam spot, all go-go, decent rent..blah..blah…I, true to form – being an eternal optimist – believe the deal is IN THE BAG. I dream of where my desk can go, how to arrange the shelving, how the sun will stream in through the window around 9am. The new MM HQ is all sunshine and light in my mind. Then – BAM – I’m screwed (for reasons I won’t divulge), the dreams’ gone, dead kaput. Grrrr. So, I start to look again. And the same thing happens. Suddenly I wake up. I’ve learned the lesson: today is a new day. Karma will be suitable dished out. But – this time there are no chickens in my basket.
