Royal Hall of Industries - The venue for Life Instyle Sydney

The Australian Life Instyle Trade Fair is a snazzy, boutique event, held twice annually in Sydney and Melbourne. It’s perhaps best described as a stylish alternative to it’s more mainstream cousins, which can be – let’s admit it – a tad TOO LARGE to get your head around, and therefore lacking in a certain intimacy/personality/je ne sais quoi. Personally, some of those BIG trade events make you feel like they’re gonna eat you up and spit you out….But then again, that’s just me… The other thing that Life Instyle has really got going for it, is the consideration given to those who exhibit and those who don’t. This sounds rather brutal (or ambivalent, depending on which way you read this), but it’s not meant to. I should clarify this statement and explain that a jury (made up of industry professionals) ponder who exhibits at this event and who doesn’t. This selection process is based on, according to the Life Instyle website “high calibre product(s) and a demonstrated commitment to good design.” Fair enough. There is enough rubbish out there, that’s for sure. So, what this trade fair ends up featuring is a unique mix of designer brands – in the homeware, giftware, lifestyle and kids departments – from a diverse array of companies. These are the brands that I love which will be on show at the 2010 Sydney event: Elk Accessories; Ghost & Lola; Helen Kaminski; Home and Human Fashion; Mimi and Me;Sophie Kyron Jewellery; Mushu and Lark.
For more brands do the clickety-click on this little bewdy: click here or better still hot-foot it to Sydney, 25 February – 01 March 2010.
